EPIC Modular Process Systems Inc. announces the release of a custom modular heat trace system for a leading utility company. A large, complex piping system was installed, featuring a self-regulating heat trace system. The project included piping, multiple circuits, design, fabrication, installation and start-up in a compact project schedule.
EPIC assembled over 6,000+ feet of piping and pipe racks in house. A self- regulating electric trace heating system was selected due to low maintenance requirements and pipe freezing prevention features. The self-regulating heat trace system was installed during pipe rack assembly, along with the required insulation. Multiple circuits were designed and installed to keep total amps low across the wires.
The entire pipe rack was shipped pre-assembled and insulated with the clips on so that it could be easily installed in the field. This allowed for faster assembly and on-site installation, reducing cost and allowing the client to improve safety records.
