Industrial Wastewater Treatment Systems

EPIC's industrial wastewater treatment systems are tailored to meet your particular needs and budget, increasing overall process efficiency and reducing costs. Our specific solutions are listed below. Contact an Engineer today to discuss the treatment system that's right for you.

Advantages of Wastewater Treatment Systems

Manufacturer's face strict regulations on discharge and waste. Non-compliance can lead to expensive fees and operations interference. A wastewater treatment system will help you:

  • Stay in compliance
  • Reduce hauling and off-site treatment costs
  • Eliminate municipal fees
  • Reduce supply costs by recovering production materials out of the waste-stream for re-use
  • Eliminate unnecessary water usage during processing

The EPIC Difference: Why EPIC?

Our engineers design with the total process in mind, which is why we start by reviewing your process to make simple changes that will improve your waste quality before a treatment system is ever installed. We take the time to fully understand your process before quotation, making sure our solution is tailored to your specific needs. You will have access to our expert in wastewater treatment, and our open door policy allows you to be involved in every step of the process.

The EPIC Difference includes several key features that assure a projects success:

  • Front-End Engineering to ensure that the proper steps are taken during project scope development
  • Plant engineering experience that assists clients to identify needs, pinpoint objectives and provide the most appropriate treatment equipment for the application
  • Open door client policy to promote innovation and allow access to our wastewater expert. We invite clients to visit EPIC to experiment with new processes, technologies and techniques that push the limits of traditional engineering
  • Accountability to responsibly manage our clients' projects from start-to-finish and beyond
  • A transfer of knowledge (not just a basic training) for the systems and equipment we provide
  • Single point of direct contact during the entirety of the project
  • State-of-the-art shop which decreases down-time and increases the speed of project completion and quality of completed systems

Treatment Technologies

contaminate removal

EPIC has experience implementing effective wastewater treatment solutions for your process. To reduce costs, we begin by reviewing your process and determine if changes could be made to significantly reduce the total volume of water used throughout your system.

Next we identify the best system to remove contaminates. Basic waste properties identified when selecting a treatment include:

Water temperature
Water pH
Total suspended solids (TSS)
Contaminant(s) for removal

Based on contaminate properties and the end use for the effluent stream, EPIC will help you install the following types of wastewater treatment technologies:

  • Simple Liquid-Solids and Liquid-Liquid Separation – separating water from contaminants (typically oils, fats and greases) using skimmers, DAFs, clarifiers and filters.
  • Chemically Enhanced Separation – reduce time and increase the amount of contaminates removed by combining simple liquid-solids separation techniques with chemical additives
  • Membranes – using ultra filtrations systems, micro-filters, or reverse osmosis(RO) membranes to filter solids, oils and semi-solid contaminants out of water without chemical treatment.
  • Biological Waste Treatment Systems – utilizing microbes and bacteria to reduce BOD and consume contaminants
  • Mechanical Removal – Various mechanical methods including presses, centrifuges, vacuum filters, gravity tables and evaporators for dewatering and removing sludge & slurry

Contaminantscontaminants wastewater

Whether you are motivated by statutory municipal regulations or the high cost of effluent disposal, EPIC can help you remove the necessary level of contaminants from your wastewater. These contaminants may include:

  • Chlorides
  • Dissolved solids
  • Fats, oils and greases
  • Metals
  • Organics which contribute to increased:
    • Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD)
    • Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD)
  • Suspended solids
  • Total Organic Carbon (TOC)
  • Total phenolics

Contaminate Disposal

An industrial wastewater treatment system recycles water for re-use. Effluent treatment systems can simply neutralize waste stream for release into a municipal system.

Removed contaminants can be recovered by a wastewater system and recycled back into production, which can lead to significant savings. Waste products not recyclable back into your own process may be sold to a third party. If your waste is not recyclable, EPIC will help you find an economical way to dispose of it.
